Controlling Perennial Grass Weeds in Cool-Season Turf

Monday, February 3
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Registration Required

Perennial grass weeds can be incredibly challenging to manage. This seminar will cover strategies to control weeds like annual bluegrass, creeping bentgrass, rough bluegrass, and more in golf course greens, fairways, and roughs. Topics include herbicide mode of action, factors affecting herbicide uptake and activity, cultural controls, control versus eradication, and resistance management. Attendees will learn to maximize pesticide activity, understand the complexity of pesticide absorption and metabolism in plants, and develop comprehensive programs for managing and mostly eliminating difficult perennial grassy weeds. Recognize that completely eliminating these weeds is tough and requires an annual plan to maintain high-quality, mostly weed-free turf.
