Cade Cutchen

Cade Cutchen is a Senior Assistant Superintendent at Lake Merced Golf Club, in Daly City, Calif. He leads the agronomy department in the daily execution of the overall turfgrass maintenance plan. His involvement in the Gil Hanse-led course renovation showcased his operational management and large-scale project coordination abilities .Prior to Lake Merced Golf Club, Cutchen was the First Assistant Superintendent at TPC Sawgrass, home of The PLAYERS Championship. He played a pivotal role in preparing the grounds for the 2021 PLAYERS Championship, one of the highlights of his career thus far. Cutchen’s tenure at The Olympic Club in San Francisco further solidified his expertise as he participated in the completion of course enhancement projects which were crucial for the success of the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open. He became the first in California to complete GCSAA’s Assistant Superintendent Certificate Series (ASCS). Cutchen is pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration at UC Berkeley Haas. In 2022, Cutchen was one of eight assistant superintendents selected for the GCSAA EXCEL Leadership Program. This, along with his service as a GCSAA Grassroots Ambassador, further validates his dedication to the industry.
