Susana R Milla-Lewis, Ph.D.
Susana Milla-Lewis, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Crop and Soil Sciences Department at NC State University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in her native Peru before coming to NC State to pursue her master’s degree in Tobacco Breeding. She then earned her Ph.D. in Peanut Breeding also at NCSU. She now leads the Turfgrass Breeding and Genetics Program. The overall goal of the program is to improve the sustainability of the turfgrass industry in North Carolina by developing cultivars that better tolerate biotic and abiotic stresses and require reduced inputs while still maintaining good aesthetic quality.
