William Crow, Ph.D.
William T. (Billy) Crow, Ph.D., is a Professor in the University of Florida Entomology and Nematology Department and is a past-president of the Society of Nematologists. He earned his bachelor’s in agriculture from the University of Hawaii at Hilo, master’s in agronomy from Auburn University and Ph.D. in nematology from the University of Florida. Crow has a 60% Extension and 40% Research appointment specializing in diagnosis and management of plant-parasitic nematodes that effect turfgrasses and ornamental plants. He is the Director of the UF Nematode Assay Lab that provides diagnosis and management recommendations for thousands of samples submitted each year. Crow’s research focuses on developing improved diagnostic methods and integrated nematode management strategies. His extension programs focus on helping clientele determine the causes of nematode problems and educating them how to avoid and manage them in ways that are effective, sustainable, and cost effective. Crow teaches two graduate courses at the University of Florida; Nematode Diagnosis, and Field Plant Nematology.
