Daniel Sandor, Ph.D.

Dan Sandor, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of turfgrass science at Virginia Tech. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas and served as a postdoctoral associate at the University of Minnesota prior to arriving in Blacksburg. Sandor's research focuses on water-conservation strategies for managing turfgrass systems and he is eager to better understand and identify consumer beliefs & behaviors regarding turfgrass inputs and the barriers that exist in adopting best management practices. Sandor has conducted various research projects evaluating the drought-resistance of improved turfgrass cultivars and investigating new sensors & technologies for irrigation systems.
