Benjamin A McGraw, Ph.D.
Ben McGraw, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Plant Sciences department at Pennsylvania State University. He obtained a Master of Science in entomology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a Ph.D. in entomology from Rutgers University. At Penn State, McGraw currently holds a 50% teaching, 50% research appointment. His teaching responsibilities include instruction in the 2-year certificate program, 4-year Bachelor’s program, and World Campus online instruction. McGraw’s research focuses on understanding insect ecology and behavior to improve management programs. For the last decade, he has applied this focus to improving the control of the annual bluegrass weevil. Currently, the McGraw lab is investigating the effects that management practices have on the development of insecticide resistance and population outbreak.
