Developing Efficacious Golf Course Fungicide Programs with Low Environmental Impact

Monday, February 6
1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Registration Required

(1361-01) Learn to approach disease management from a fungicide efficacy and environmental impact perspective. Strategies presented will include maximizing cultural practices to promote turfgrass health and developing disease control programs that use the Environmental Impact Quotient (EIQ) concept. EIQ will be explained as a tool for selecting pesticides, setting goals to reduce environmental impact, and assessing progress over time.

In this hands-on seminar, we’ll work in small groups using a customized spreadsheet to calculate the Field Use Environmental Impact Quotient (FUEIQ) for actual fungicide programs and provide the ability to calculate the FUEIQ for programs used on your golf course. Attendees must bring a laptop with Excel to fully participate in this interactive seminar (if Excel is not available, there is a workaround). Phones will be inadequate.
