Connections Housing is the only approved, official housing vendor for GCSAA Conference and Trade Show. We understand that unauthorized housing companies may contact you and advertise cheaper rates, or may imply or claim an affiliation with GCSAA, GCBAA, ASGCA or USGA. Unfortunately, some past attendees have fallen prey to these companies and were unable to recuperate the money they spent on rooms that did not exist. If you are contacted by any company that is NOT Connections Housing, please notify us at gcsaa@connectionshousing.com before providing any information to a secondary housing vendor.
Room poaching is carried out by third-party companies unaffiliated with the GCSAA Conference and Trade Show that act as travel agencies, wholesalers or destination management companies to solicit attendees and exhibitors for room reservations.
The poacher might inform an exhibitor that the hotel room block is “virtually sold out,” and that if the exhibitor doesn’t book immediately, he or she likely won’t get a room for “the association convention.” Implied affiliation with the event is strong, despite the fact that the organization is not officially sanctioned by the sponsoring associations. Additional deceptive tactics include distributing forms or promotional materials that appear to be issued by show management or the sponsoring associations.
