Jan Bel Jan, ASGCA

Jan Bel Jan comes from Pittsburgh, Penn. golf family. Her father, George BelJan, was a golf pro/superintendent; three of his five “in the golf business” brothers were peer-respected PGA professionals. From them, she learned the game and business of golf. Bel Jan began her design career with Tom Fazio with whom she held a senior position in golf course design, construction and project management for more than twenty years. Her experience as a registered Landscape Architect, Certified Arborist and former assistant superintendent, provide her with a unique outlook on the playability, strategy, ecology, and economics of golf courses. Bel Jan now maintains her own golf course design firm, was the 2019-2020 President of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA), and was an Adjunct Professor at Hodges University in Naples, Fla. She was honored in 2018-2020 with the USGA Museum exhibit: "Breaking New Ground: Women and Golf Course Architecture."
